About Legacy Virtual High School​​​
Katy Independent School District is evolving it's long-standing Katy Virtual School (KVS) into Legacy Virtual High School. Continuing Katy ISD’s long-standing tradition of educational excellence, LVHS will open in Fall 2026 for 9-11th grade students as part of the District’s Innovative Pathways initiative, expanding high-quality virtual learning opportunities for students across Texas. This forward-thinking campus combines flexibility and accessibility with the academic rigor and reputation of a Katy ISD education.

Legacy will offer both full-time, tuition-free enrollment for eligible in-state students and tuition-based part-time/supplemental options, allowing learners to enhance their graduation plans with Advanced Placement and original credit courses. Students will benefit from Texas certified teachers, personalized instruction, and a comprehensive course catalog that supports graduation endorsements in multidisciplinary studies, arts and humanities, business and industry, and STEM–computer science.

Enrollment for Legacy Virtual High School opens February 2026, with classes beginning in August 2026, pending TEA approval.
